Unless otherwise noted, OMA data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution License CC BY 4.0.

The software tool OMA Standalone for user-side orthology inference is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.

We do not authorize the use of our name, logos and other branding of OMA. OMA must not be associated with any publicity or business promotion, without our prior written approval.

Exclusions

OMA browser and OMA data are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”. We do not guarantee their availability, correctness, accuracy, reliability, and completeness, nor the suitability for any specific purpose. We assume no liability for any indirect or consequential loss or damages provided that such damage was not caused by willful intent or act of gross negligence.

Privacy

We are committed to providing quality information and services to the scientific community. In order to do this, we need to store some information about the usage of our websites. The information we collect is used exclusively for internal review, to improve the quality of our services and hardware infrastructure, and to also justify continued support of the OMA Browser. OMA Browser is hosted in Switzerland by the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and University of Lausanne and as such is also covered by the SIB privacy policy found here. We strive to protect the privacy of our users and will never sell, share or exchange information about our users with any third parties. However, OMA browser is operated in an academic IT environment; access to result data via URLs is not protected. All services are provided "AS-IS" without any warranty, expressed or implied.

Fair use policy

There are no restrictions on the interactive use of the OMA browser by individual users. For programmatic access to the OMA browser, please refer to the documentation on how to link and programmatically access the OMA browser. If your use case is not covered in the documentation, please contact us directly. Activities that may impact the stable operation of the service such as systematic or automated queries, downloads etc. using other mechanisms than the ones provided by the OMA browser are prohibited and may result in blocking your access.

Governing Law/Jurisdiction

These terms of use and the use of OMA are governed by Swiss substantive law, without reference to its conflicts of laws provisions. The competent courts in Lausanne, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction.
